Terms of Service

By creating an account on NotCollege or using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not create an account.

NotCollege is a career-discovery resource for U.S. high schoolers exploring non-degree career paths. The service includes browsing 45 BLS-verified career path records, a Workforce Pell state readiness tracker, saved-path shortlists, and a guided match that recommends paths from our data based on a short questionnaire. The service is currently provided free of charge.

• Single account type: student
• One account per user
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential
• You must be 16 or older to create an account (we do not actively verify age)
• We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (e.g. automated scraping, content harvesting, or attempts to circumvent security controls)

You may not:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or other security controls
• Use automated systems to scrape the corpus or the service
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute corpus data
• Impersonate another user or create accounts on behalf of others

NOTCOLLEGE PROVIDES INFORMATIONAL CONTENT ONLY. THE CAREER DATA, PATH PAGES, AND GUIDED- MATCH RECOMMENDATIONS DO NOT CONSTITUTE PROFESSIONAL CAREER COUNSELING, LEGAL ADVICE, FINANCIAL ADVICE, MEDICAL ADVICE, OR ANY OTHER PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. WAGE FIGURES, GROWTH PROJECTIONS, AND STATE LICENSURE DETAILS ARE BASED ON PUBLICLY AVAILABLE BLS DATA WITH DOCUMENTED VERIFICATION DATES. ACTUAL OUTCOMES VARY BY INDIVIDUAL CIRCUMSTANCES. USERS SHOULD VERIFY ANY MATERIAL INFORMATION WITH AUTHORITATIVE SOURCES (BLS.GOV, STATE LICENSING BOARDS, SCHOOL COUNSELORS, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AGENCIES) BEFORE MAKING CAREER OR EDUCATIONAL DECISIONS.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED 'AS IS' AND 'AS AVAILABLE' WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION PROVIDED. WE MAKE NO WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NOTCOLLEGE AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST OPPORTUNITIES, LOST DATA, OR ANY DECISION MADE BASED ON THE INFORMATION OR CORPUS DATA. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED $100 (ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS).

• The NotCollege corpus, schema, design, and software are the property of NotCollege.
• BLS data is in the public domain; we provide attribution and methodology but make no copyright claim on the underlying figures.
• Any career paths you save to your account remain yours to manage; by using the service, you grant NotCollege a non-exclusive license to store them as needed to provide the service (e.g. your dashboard shortlist and any share link you create).

Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the service, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

• You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Privacy.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
• Termination does not relieve you of obligations incurred before termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of NotCollege will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Maryland.

NotCollege strives to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards. If you encounter accessibility issues, contact accessibility@notcollege.app.

• We will email all account holders 30 days before any material change.
• Continued use of the service after the change date constitutes acceptance.
• The current version date is shown at the bottom of this page.
